Studio Series: Meet Rana Amer

Meet Rana Amer.

Rana is an architect and illustrator based in New York. Driven by her passion for architecture, her iconic black and white architectural illustrations celebrate the distinctive characteristics that define our cities.

What’s your Artist Statement?

With an architectural background, I am particularly drawn to the distinctive idiosyncrasies of our cities that narrate the rhythm of our everyday life. Through the slow process of drawing by hand, I observe, document, and celebrate the nooks and crannies that make our cities unique.

I am a big fan of puzzles, and Jiggy's diverse set of puzzles do not disappoint. It only makes sense to partner with Jiggy to turn my art into one of my favorite activities, which is piecing together a puzzle.

What are you most excited about in becoming a JIGGY Studio artist?

Being part of an amazing community that shares the same passion I have for puzzles.

What’s your puzzle strategy and ritual?

I grab a snack and head to work at a puzzle late at night. I usually start with distinct elements/colors and go on from there.

If you could collaborate with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be?!
