Studio Series: Meet Kate Ritchie

Meet Kate Ritchie.

Katie is a mixed media collage artist from Charleston, SC!

What’s your Artist Statement?

I draw inspiration from nature, sacred geometry, color, pattern, and spirituality. You will often see themes of mandalas, halos, and archways incorporated in my work.

Why JIGGY?

Because I love their mission and the thought of sharing my art through puzzles is so fun!

What are you most excited about in becoming a JIGGY Studio artist?

I can't wait to share my artwork with families and friends who gather around a table to make a puzzle!

What’s your puzzle strategy and ritual?

I'm definitely putting on some Anderson Paak while I drink a Wolffer rose cider. There is at least one candle lit and maybe some incense too to offset the bright overhead light. I like to figure out the edges of the puzzle first and then I hone in on one section at a time! I always try to find all of the pieces for one whole flower or jelly bean, etc. before moving on to the next section!

If you could collaborate with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be?!

It's tied between Yayoi Kusama and Hilma af Klint.

Who's your dream guest for a dinner & puzzle party?

Lizzo!
