Meet Allison Hall.

Allison Hall is an artist based in Savannah, Georgia who primarily uses gouache to paint florals, landscapes, and still lifes. Originally from Dallas, Texas she constantly draws inspiration from the vast landscapes of her home state.

What’s your Artist Statement?

My art is encompassed with themes of nostalgia and hospitality, and my hope is that people feel a sense of comfort when engaging with my work. I paint to give my brain rest, and I'd like for the viewer to benefit from that as well. I’ve found freedom in painting from observation, knowing the way I see objects will be different than how my neighbor sees. It’s not about accuracy, it’s about the spirit of the piece... which is why my work can seem humorous, in the best way!

Why JIGGY?

I've been following JIGGY for a while and I'm so thankful for the way they uplift female artists! There are too many ugly puzzles out there and they're truly fixing a problem. If folks are spending hours staring at artwork while working on a puzzle, they might as well be beautiful pieces by independent artists!

What are you most excited about in becoming a JIGGY Studio artist?

I'm so proud to be working with JIGGY! I think I'm most excited about having people stare at my art for hours (in puzzle form).

What’s your puzzle strategy and ritual?

Edges first... but also I get distracted by grouping everything by color. I think having a puzzle party with good wine and friends is ideal, while listening to jazz.

If you could collaborate with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be?!

Eric Carle (the guy behind "The Very Hungry Caterpillar). I loved his pace of life and how playful he got with his work. His morning routine was very slow and peaceful (like mine) and I think we'd vibe. I'd love to work on a book together.

Who's your dream guest for a dinner & puzzle party?

Julie Andrews! I feel like she can hang with the gals and add a fanciful flair to the evening. I'd love to hear her stories.
