Studio Series: Meet Corinne Lent
Meet Corinne Lent.
Corinne Lent is originally from New York where she studied Fashion Design and Textiles. After working in women's apparel she went back to school for textile design landing a job as an inhouse surface designer. She ventured out to Portland, Oregon where she is now living and working as a freelance surface designer and ceramicist.
What’s your Artist Statement?
Corinne's art is a mashup of techniques and mediums such as illustration, ceramics and textiles. She is inspired by travel, collecting oddities and the occult. Corinne arrives at her curious creations by mixing folk art, vintage relics, flowers and animals. Her art while being colorful and naive can also have a magical allure. She produces ceramics with a mystical flair such as palm incense burners , shrines and candelabras as well as various textile products.
Why JIGGY?
Making art is playful so the idea of people playing with a piece of art is so interesting to me.
What are you most excited about in becoming a JIGGY Studio artist?
I love the idea of people being able to access art and illustration at an affordable price and with multiple functions.
What’s your puzzle strategy and ritual?
I love a glass of wine and friends gathered around a table after dinner.
If you could collaborate with any artist, dead or alive, who would it be?!
Maud Lewis. I'd help her paint that house and ask her if she would help me paint mine.
Who's your dream guest for a dinner & puzzle party?
Nathan Fielder. I like to laugh a lot.
Where can people find you?
