Karen Lynch is an Australian artist who creates both digital and hand-cut paper collages, made from vintage magazines, books and catalogues found at thrift
shops, second-hand bookstores, markets and garage sales, spliced together with modern photography. Central to Karen’s art is the idea of resuscitating and transforming long forgotten pieces of the past into colourful, surreal, retro-futuristic photomontages.

Karen's art is inspired by mid-century architecture, german expressionist and French new wave films, kodachrome photography, retro advertising and the beauty
and colour of nature. Karen has exhibited her work in the USA, France, Italy, Norway, Canada and
Australia.
In addition to having her own art practice, Karen works as a freelance artist in her business Leaf and Petal Design, creating album cover art, book covers, posters for events and festivals, social media campaigns, editorial images for
print and online magazines, and commissions and licensing for brands.
