Muses that made the artist: Amelie Matisse, Anja Slibar
Anja Slibar is an illustrator based in Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from graphic design in Slovenia at the Academy of Arts and design in 2010. Soon after completing her BA degree she realized she was more curious about illustration than anything else. Anja was further educated at one of the best universities in its fields, Aalto University of Arts and Design in Helsinki, Finland where she focused on illustration. Her style is a mixture of minimalist design and detailed ink drawing, a Greek sense of line and motion and black work— But with something femme pushing or pulsing through that visual vocabulary, distending the line.
Her clients include The New Yorker, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Refinery29, Urban Outfitters, Nylon Magazine, Bustle Magazine, Third Man Records and Island Records amongst others. She illustrated music videos for inspiring young artists like Anna Akana and Bishop Briggs that got more than 5 million views on YouTube and was screened at South by South West as one of the best-animated music videos in 2019.
