Donna Atkins has always loved art. Although she's had no formal training, she loved drawing from an early age. One of her earliest memories was of her mother 'oohing' and 'ahhhing' over a detailed picture she drew of Uncle Wiggily from one of her storybooks. That was all the encouragement she needed and from that point on she always had a pencil, crayon, pastels, or a paintbrush in hand. She drew pastel pet portraits for people before focusing primarily on acrylics. She loves all animals so they often appear in her paintings. She's also enjoys painting landscapes, inspired by the beauty of the New England region where she resides. Her work has been licensed on greeting cards, wallpaper, dinnerware, and a variety of other products.
