Artist Dylan Smith and this piece, “Art Heals”, are inspired by the work of his childhood drawings and sketches that he discovered in his mother’s attic well into adulthood. Smith recalls being bullied and harassed by fellow schoolmates throughout his childhood and has dedicated many of his illustrations to the women who supported, shielded, and provided support to him during these challenging moments. “Art Heals” utilizes illustration, paint, and mixed media.
