Meet Edwina Owens Elliott.

I grew up in Chicago, surrounded by a family of creative and stylish men and women. It's in my blood. After earning my degree in Fashion Illustration, I spent over 30 years establishing a career in advertising and graphic design while continuing to illustrate fashion mostly for my own enjoyment.

What’s your Artist Statement?

Fashion and art. Art and fashion. For me the two are so intertwined, there’s no such thing as one without the other. I follow themes and create collections, starting sometimes with an old illustration from years ago. I tweak and refresh it digitally and then add a new, filtered background to give it new life. Sometimes it’s the reverse. An old background gets filtered and reworked with a new fashion illustration. Each finished piece consists of repurposed parts that create a theme which then becomes a collection. And yes. I do love sunglasses.

Why JIGGY?

As a graphic designer, I'm a sucker for creative packaging. And I believe in the power of an elegant presentation. JIGGY is head and shoulders above all the rest.

What are you most excited about in becoming a JIGGY Studio artist?

It's a wonderful opportunity! Having our own little shop, with the JIGGY machine behind it, has tremendous potential for any artist. It gives me chills.

What’s your puzzle strategy and ritual?

I always do edges first. But surprisingly, I rarely listen to music when puzzling. My set up is on the dining room table so I often puzzle while cooking, running back and forth between the puzzle and my kitchen. But mainly, I puzzle in between art projects and really appreciate the quiet. It allows me to clear my head. Work out any issues or problems. Rediscovering jigsaw puzzles has been a real game-changer for me both personally and professionally.

Who's your dream guest for a dinner & puzzle party?

My late mother. She was the jigsaw puzzle queen! She always had at least one puzzle going and we'd work on them together for hours when I’d go home to visit. I know she is so tickled by this new venture with JIGGY. She's looking down on me with a big, beautiful smile.
